Underfloor Heating Installation
A simple step by step guide to help you understand the process of having underfloor heating installed.
There are various methods of installation – unlike wet systems, most electric systems are surface mounted, meaning if you already have a slab/existing floor we can install a system to the surface and it won’t make much of an impact on the floor heights – adjoining rooms will have a slight raise into the heated room normally approx. 15-20mm depending on the floor type. First and second floors are no problem with electric heating and quite commonly we do a wet system to the ground floor and electric to upper floors. We can also do “in-screed” type system, these are exactly the same as water systems with the pipes laid onto 100mm king-span or celotex (other brands are available) but instead of pipes we use an electric cable clipped direct to the insulation and a 50mm liquid screed over the top or 65mm sand and cement .
